It has been a few years since I have been active on Stuck in Your Rut and I’m excited to be back. My life has taken me on a wild ride over the past few years. But, I’m going stronger than ever. Here’s a little bit of what is going on to catch you up:
The history of Stuck in Your Rut
This website has evolved a lot since it started. It originally began as a challenge for me to have to try new things. I knew that if I felt accountable to reporting back to all of you I would stick to it. It’s so easy to get stuck in the same boring stuff all the time and I was ready to get out of it. I tried new foods and pushed myself to try new activities. It was fun.
But, it didn’t feel like what I really needed to be doing. See, I’ve overcome some personal “issues” in the past (as most of us have at some point). And, I really felt like I was supposed to be doing something with all of the information that I had learned. So, I changed Stuck in Your Rut.
It became centered on helping women through trials in marriage, big or small. My marriage was a mess for a long time (you can find out more about me at the About page) and I wanted to help others avoid the same experiences that I went through. But, I became busy with other things and discouraged at myself and I let it fall away.
Where I’m at today
I am back, Stuck in Your Rut has changed, and I couldn’t be more excited about the future! Since I stopped being active on the website three years ago my life has changed a lot. I discovered that I could get paid to do what I love—writing! I started working as a freelance writer for small businesses, helping them to create website content and blog posts. Eventually, that became my full income. I discovered that I enjoy being an entrepreneur and working for myself. It lets me be home and there for my family more than ever before. Something I am now passionate about helping other people learn how to do.
I started homeschooling my three daughters this year. It was a snap (but prayed about) decision after our unexpected move to Florida resulted in us living in Kentucky. That’s a story for another day.
I have also, thanks to some of my wonderful clients, learned a LOT about everything from how to develop more confidence to improving mental health. I’ve learned the importance of goals, setting deadlines, and embracing failure instead of hiding from it. I can now see so clearly that all of my experiences and life lessons have brought me right back to Stuck in Your Rut.
I want to help you!
That’s a true statement. I feel so passionately about helping other women pursue the life of their dreams. I know that might sound a little corny, but it’s true. We were meant to have life and have it to the full (John 10:10).
- Has your life fallen apart and you don’t know how to even start putting it back together?
- Do you feel like you are just going through the motions of life?
- Are you tired of living on an emotional roller coaster?
- Do you want to start a new career, move to a new state, or put the spark back in your marriage?
I am going to share what I have learned and am learning with you. Stuck in Your Rut is going to become a place for motivation, encouragement, support, and accountability. Over the next few months, you will see changes happening periodically as this continues to grow and develop into a resource tool that will help you live a life you love!
